After asking for help on social media in finding her missing 17-year-old daughter Chelsea, Rosie O’Donnell is now using the same medium to thank everyone who pitched in to help now that Chelsea is safe. The teenager, who is said to suffer from a mental illness and had not taken her medication, went missing Aug. 11 along with her therapy dog Bear, who was also found safe. They had last been seen in Rockland County, N.Y. and were both found unharmed in Barnegat Light, N.J., about 130 miles from home. No details were provided about how or why Chelsea had ventured out that far.
Here is O’Donnell’s tweet thanking her supporters:
chelsea has been found and is safe in police custody – thank u all for the help and light #missingchildren

O’Donnell has yet to update her blog, where she had provided descriptions of Chelsea and Bear, though it’s safe to assume that she’s been preoccupied in the last few harrowing hours. What matters the most, however, is that Chelsea O’Donnell (and Bear) are both safe and back at home. This story has a happy ending.
