This Jim Henson Tribute Art Show Rainbow Connects With Our Hearts

BEST BUDS by Mike Mitchell

This weekend, Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles opened “The Lovers, The Dreamers, and Me,” a exhibition of Jim Henson tribute art to coincide with the release of The Muppets and the news of a Henson biopic in development. The show includes works in a variety of media from over 30 artists, including Graham Annable, Mike Peraza, Anna Chambers, and Mike Mitchell. The show ends on January 2nd and celebrates not only the Muppets and Sesame Street, but also other classic Henson works like Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and Fraggle Rock. (I’ve just realized Jim Henson is responsible for about 70% of the things I loved as a child. The other thirty percent? Budweiser and the scrambled TV stations.)
Some of our favorite tributes from the art show are after the break. All pictures courtesy of Gallery Nucleus unless otherwise noted.
