We’ve been meaning to do a round up of Hillary White‘s funny classic art and pop culture mashups. We’ve posted some of her work around these parts before, but we’ve never given her the featured spot these funny pop reinterpretations deserve. Whether it’s the Darth Vader with a unicorn above (based on Domenico Zampieri’s “Virgin and Unicorn”) or it’s one of the many Baroque Muppets in the gallery below, White knows how to strike the right balance between famous works of art and pop culture characters inserted with her own personal style.
All pictures courtesy Hillary White’s Flickr stream unless otherwise noted. We’ve also included the name of the classic work each of White’s paintings were based on. Prints of many of these are available here. (A few of the pictures near the end may be NSFW, depending on your company’s policy on Muppet nipples. By the way, if your company has an official policy banning Muppet nipples, we will fight them. This is AMERICA.)
