The next project for Quentin Tarantino has long been known to be a western, but with news of an early draft of the script making the rounds, Deadline is reporting a possible title for the project: The Hateful Eight.
Tarantino has finished a draft, and is in the process of showing it to a handful of actors he wants for the picture. He usually does this, gets feedback and goes back in and hones his work.
Some of the acts being mentioned are Christoph Waltz, Tarantino’s current muse, and Nebraska star Bruce Dern, who could see a boost if he manages to win at the 2014 Golden Globes. There’s a little information floating around, but /Film tries to shed a little light on the possible plot:
Tarantino has long spoke of doing a film in the mold of The Dirty Dozen or Magnificent Seven and while Inglourious Basterds took that idea to World War II, maybe The Hateful Eight will finally see Tarantino take his band of misfits idea to the Old West.
The idea of another western from Tarantino is an interesting idea, especially if he combines what he dabbled in with Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained. Clearly it’s going to be a while until we see any actual footage, but hopefully we might get a peek at a script at some point.
