Airport security can be real a real pain, especially for parents with infants. Childless travelers usually only have to worry about themselves, but those with kids in tow? Not so easy.
Enter Alyssa Milano, the actress famous for Who’s The Boss?, Charmed and Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. She’s the mother of a 3-year-old son and a 7-month-old daughter and, according to USA Today, often travels with pumped and bottled breast milk for the latter. Unfortunately for her, she wasn’t following Heathrow Airport’s 100ml rule and they dumped her stash. That’s when she turned to Twitter:
(1 of 2) @HeathrowAirport just took my pumped breast milk away. 10 ounces. Gone. Not okay.

(2 of 2) They said they would let the pumped milk through if I had the baby with me. Why would I need to pump if I had the baby with me????

Heathrow’s Twitter account responded to Milano’s complaints, but that didn’t stop her tirade:
.@HeathrowAirport Why can you test my toiletries to make sure they are safe but you have to throw away my breast milk?

.@HeathrowAirport I was told I would be fine if the baby was with me. Plus, it was less than 5 ounces per container. Why is my shampoo okay?

.@HeathrowAirport I would have happily spread milk in different containers (which I travel with) to comply t… http://t.co/I1kmVXufhv

PS. Another reason it makes no sense – when I got past security it was time to pump again so… I did carry on 5 ounces of breast milk.

Then again, before this mini Twitter feud even began, Milano tweeted a rather enlightening comment:
Pumping on a plane is difficult. Small FYI.

Moral of the story? Pump when you’re not under so much pressure.
