It’s only a matter of time before we live in a ‘Shack-less world, now.
Shortly after filing for bankruptcy, RadioShack also announced the closure of over 500 stores, 36 percent of the chain’s total, including a location in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. This in itself would not be newsworthy, except that a Facebook page claiming to be the account for the Reynoldsburg RadioShack went totally bananas this week, lashing out at customers as the store prepared to close its doors for the final time.
On Tuesday, the page — which has not been confirmed to be the official page for the location, as it was only created in early April — posted the following two updates:
Whoever is running the page has likewise responded in a similar manner to queries from customers:
Neither RadioShack nor the Ohio location itself have made any statements about the rogue account yet, but on the plus side this is the probably the most anyone has talked about RadioShack in years. It’s certainly does no more harm to the brand than the location’s Yelp page, which boasts a single one star customer review that starts out by asking, “Is it possible to give a review of zero?”
