Greedo Still Shoots First In Today’s Digital Release Of ‘Star Wars’

The first six Star Wars movies came to Digital HD for the first time today. A rumor was going around that the digital version of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope would include the original Mos Eisley Cantina scene in which HAN SHOT FIRST. The scene was changed to make Greedo shoot first in the 1997 re-release and in every version since.

The digital restoration rumor was quickly debunked by Australians, who eons ago made a deal with a wizard giving them everything a day early via time zone wizardry in exchange for their land being overrun with terrifying nightmare creatures. [citation needed]

*sad trombone*

We already know one person who doesn’t give a single F about this: Harrison Ford. Besides telling co-star Oscar Isaac that it’s all fake and in space, he’s also responded directly to a question about this scene. In a Reddit AMA last April (summarized here), a fan asked, “Who shot first? Han Solo or Greedo?”

His reply?

I don’t know, and I don’t care.
