CM Punk Weighs In On Jon Jones And Suggests That If You’re A Pro Athlete Who Takes Drugs ‘You’re A P*ssy’

On Sunday morning, UFC fighters CM Punk and “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone partook in a UFC 200 Aftermath panel in Las Vegas as part of the Fight Week wrap-up day. Cerrone certainly had plenty of noteworthy (and occasionally cringeworthy) quotes, but as usual, Punk wasn’t shy about letting his opinions on several matters be well-known.

When asked about his opinion on Jon Jones being pulled from the UFC 200 light heavyweight title fight, Punk didn’t hold back on his opinions of people who use performance-enhancing drugs — or indeed, drugs of any kind.

“I don’t think it’s a secret [that] I’m straight edge. I have been, my entire life. I think if you use drugs and you’re a professional athlete, you’re a pussy … I just really feel that, I know everybody wants that competitive edge and they want to be better and stuff like that, but at the end of the day, you’ve gotta look at yourself in the mirror. I don’t know how some of these guys are doing that and still being proud of who they are.

“The flip side of that is, the supplement shit scares the shit out of me, because hey, who knows? There’s a dozen guys saying they had a tainted supplement. Maybe one of [them is telling the truth]. I don’t f*ckin’ know. But you know what I do? I just don’t take supplements.

“It is what it is. Don’t do drugs.”

But tell us how you really feel, Punk!

Also noteworthy was in the preamble to this very question, where Punk suggested anyone who accuses him of being just a “fake wrestler” had better watch the hell out.

“I’m gonna put my foot in my mouth on this one, because this is where we start encroaching on the territory of things I say [where] people can easily respond with, ‘Well, f*ck you, you haven’t fought yet, you’re a fake wrestler,’ all this and all that. My fake wrestling can beat a lot of real wrestling, so, you know.”

Punk is certain to get heat and hate for these comments, but you can never accuse him of lacking in confidence. And in the world of MMA, you need confidence above all else, at all times. I mean, you need ability, too, but if you don’t have the level of confidence that Punk has, you’re going to be totally screwed.
