The relationship between Donald Trump and the McMahon family is no secret. He’s been on WWE television multiple times, including getting to shave Vince McMahon’s head at WrestleMania 23, and was inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame in 2013.

During a WrestleMania promotional stop at Yahoo! News Live, Linda McMahon — a former Republican Party candidate herself — expounded on that relationship, calling Trump a “great partner” and explaining his popularity as a vessel of American angst and unrest.

“He was a great partner, a wonderful promoter. He really greased the wheels. We got to know him personally. He’s very loyal, he’s a patriot, he hires smart people around him. He did exactly what he said he would do.

… [Trump] really is a vessel, I think, of this angst and unrest that the country is feeling, coming from so many different areas. They’re discouraged about their jobs and not more people have jobs during this administration and we elected, you know we elected Republicans in the last go round. Things were really going to change and nothing changed.”

She also talked the whole “head shaving” thing, revealing Vince McMahon’s biggest regret of the moment:

“You don’t think Donald’s head was going to get shaved, did you? Vince says that the tragedy of this was that he’s such an ugly bald guy.”

Never forget.
