Roman Reigns Has Been Suspended By WWE For A Wellness Policy Violation

Surprising news straight from WWE.com today as former WWE World Heavyweight Champion and 1/3 of the upcoming Battleground main-event, Roman Reigns, has been suspended for 30 days following a violation of the company’s wellness policy.

WWE has suspended Joe Anoa`i (Roman Reigns) for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.

Reigns issued a statement on Twitter regarding his suspension: “I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy,” Reigns tweeted. “No excuses. I own it.”

No more details are currently available, but 30 days is the standard suspension time for first-time violations. Reigns is scheduled to be a part of a triple threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Battleground event on July 24, which, if you’re wondering, is more than 30 days away. You’ve got to wonder when WWE found out about the violation, and if the timing of the two title changes at Money in the Bank had anything to do with it.

We’ll keep you posted on any further developments to Battleground, and for any additional information regarding the hows and whys of the suspension.
