To get on The Price is Right, you need luck just to get called to come on down for the chance to get into the game, but from there it’s all about strategy and consumer product knowledge.
Pro wrestler Daniel “D-Man” Parker, who wrestles for Championship Wrestling From Hollywood and has been in other indie promotions in the U.S. and Japan, got called down and had his own unique strategy to have a little fun with his bids, and it paid off.
His first bid was $666, which caused Drew Carey to chuckle, and the only reason he didn’t win that round was because someone bid $667 over the top of him (because he’s smart and understands PiR strategy).
However, D-Man would not be denied in his second effort as he earned his way onto the stage by blazing the competition with a strong bid of $420 (and some awful bids from the rest of the competition). Drew Carey also chuckled at his $420 bid, saying he’s “gonna hit ’em all today,” and brought Daniel up, who ran around doing the Santino Marella trombone celebration.
From there, Daniel dominated, winning a car in his first game and then crushing the big wheel. He spun for 85 cents and then 15 cents to get to a dollar, and earn $1,000 extra and then hit the 5 to get another $10,000 on his bonus spin. The video from his YouTube page then cuts off before the showcase showdown, which makes me assume he didn’t win his showcase, but a car and $11,000 is a very strong Price is Right performance.
