Here are your quick and dirty, editorial-free WWE Smackdown Live results for September 20, 2016. The show featured two big matches in Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena and The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler.

WWE Smackdown Live results:

— The show opened with Daniel Bryan in the ring to facilitate a contract signing for the first Smackdown Women’s Championship defense, which will happen at No Mercy. Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss came to the ring and insulted each other. Alexa hit Becky with the contract, then signed it, then flipped the table over on the champ. Becky attacked her on the ramp, sending Alexa fleeing to the back. Becky then signed the contract and posed with her title.

1. No. 1 Contender Match: The Usos defeated American Alpha. This was American Alpha’s first match since getting injured by the Usos in the tag team title tournament. Heath Slater and Rhyno watched the match backstage while eating Cheez Whiz and crackers. The Usos got the pin after a double superkick and a top rope splash on Jason Jordan. The Usos will face Slater and Rhyno for the titles at No Mercy.

2. Baron Corbin defeated Apollo Crews. Jack Swagger sat in on commentary for the match. Corbin won with the End of Days. Corbin stared Swagger down after the match.

3. WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz (c) defeated Dolph Ziggler. Maryse tried to interfere and got tossed from ringside by the referee. The Miz tried to take a countout loss, but Ziggler stopped him. While the referee was clearing the title belt from the ring, Miz sprayed Ziggler in the face with the aerosol can and hit the Skull Crushing Finale to retain.

4. Randy Orton defeated Erick Rowan. Orton won a short match with the RKO. After the match, Bray Wyatt taunted Orton with a Titantron promo.

5. Naomi and Nikki Bella defeated Natalya and Carmella. Carmella got her team disqualified right away as she pulled Nikki out of the ring and attacked her on the outside even though Natalya had Nikki in a Sharpshooter at the time.

6. Dean Ambrose defeated John Cena. Ambrose managed to reverse an Attitude Adjustment into a sunset flip roll-up for the pinfall.

— After the match, AJ Styles attacked both Cena and Ambrose. Daniel Bryan then informed Styles that Ambrose would receive his world title rematch next week. Styles yelled at Bryan, then got laid out by a Dirty Deeds from Ambrose to end the show.
