There goes that whole “Nicki Minaj is a bully” thing rearing its ugly head again. Last year, the rap diva was labeled the agressor when she infamously asked Miley Cyrus “What’s good?” at the MTV VMAs, when she “attacked” Taylor Swift with subtweets, and when she posted pictures of her haters on Instagram. Now Nicki’s being called out after a recent interaction with a mentally ill woman.
Nicki was out in Miami Sunday night when she came across an older woman IG commenters say is well-known in South Beach for being “unwell in the mind.” It’s unclear what Nicki said to the woman, but the interaction was captured on video by the 33-year-old rapper and started with the woman yelling at Nicki, “I don’t need your so-called help!” The visibly angry woman began to walk away before Nicki called out to her, demanding she repeats herself. “Come here!” The woman told Nicki to “go away,” but Nicki laughed and continued troubling her. “You look nice. Can we talk? Come here!” The video ended with Nicki laughing and a clueless Meek Mill wondering what the hell was going on.
The interaction left a very sour taste in the mouth of Nicki fans and they’re admonishing the black Barbie for “humiliating” the woman. “Making fun of people with housing and food insecurity @nickiminaj?! You’re as much of a c*nt as everyone makes your dumb ass out to be. You are pathetic,” writes an obviously vexed fan. One critic is dragging Nicki’s older brother into it, commenting that it isn’t “cool” for Nicki to harass the woman and wondering if the rapper would find it funny if someone made fun of her “nasty ass brother.” Nicki’s brother, Jelani Maraj, has a child rape case pending.
Not everyone is finding fault with the video. Some find it hilarious AF and are leaving laughing emojis and fiercely defending the queen of rap with comments like, “It was f*cking funny y’all need a little humor.” So far, the video has received over 1.5 million views.
