I Give Great Talking Head: The 12 Meanest, Funniest, and Most Vicious Lines From ‘Veep’

This week’s episode of Veep, “First Response,” was a hard one to enjoy. It felt like the entire episode was designed for maximum discomfort. It centered on a puff piece, between a journalist played by Alison Janney, and the Vice President, which turned into a disaster of an interview in which the Vice President’s husband was implicated in exchanging access for money, as well as making the Vice President look dumb because she didn’t know that government shut down had been lifted. Nothing in the episode went right for Vice President Meyer, and even her face-saving moment at the end of the episode felt empty.

After starting the season with a modicum of political cloud, the Vice President has frittered it away the entire year. It’ shard to watch when nothing ever seems to go right for her. The Vice President needs a win, very badly. That said, the scenes between Amy and the producer of the interview were magic.

Here were the night’s funniest, meanest and most vicious lines.
