UPDATE: Well, this is fun. Apparently the episode has been replaced by this season’s trailer because someone at Crackle screwed up and set it to go live 12 hours early. So I guess you’ll just have to take my word for it that the episode is great, until it “premieres” later tonight.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the first guest in the new season of Jerry Seinfeld’s web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. This is a really fun episode. It’s basically just 15 minutes of two old friends shooting the breeze, with the only major difference being that one of the friends is a comedy icon and the other is a comedy icon who stars on Veep. Other than that, it’s just like when you and your buddies grab coffee. They don’t even really talk about their careers or the philosophy of comedy, like you typically see in other episodes of the show. Two people famous for starring in a show about nothing made an episode of a web series about nothing. Seems appropriate.

Topics covered include:

  • The time Jerry pitched a plot that made a pregnant Julia Louis-Dreyfus start bawling
  • All sorts of other “Remember when” Seinfeld moments
  • Ice cream scooping
  • Marriage
  • Jerry’s lack of interpersonal skills
  • Proper cappuccino temperature
  • And more

Also, at one point in the episode they duck into a fragrance shop, which brings up an important point: Comedians in Hollywood Smelling Perfumes? Could work.
