Rectify (Sundance, 10:00 p.m.) — Amantha notes that “DNA is a mofo, y’all” in a poetically apt description of the show’s core focus as Rectify returns to Sundance. When we last heard from Daniel, he partially confessed at his hearing while Teddy sought to press charges for the beating he took. Like last season’s finale, the premiere is directed by Jake Gyllenhaal’s dad.
Hannibal (NBC, 10:00 p.m.) — Will and Jack realize that their whole is greater than the sum of their parts in the hunt for Hannibal, as the esteemed doctor preps for one final meal in Florence. Meanwhile, Mason anxiously plans for Hannibal’s capture, but “best laid plans” and all that.
The Spoils Before Dying: Murder in B-Flat (IFC, 9:00 p.m.) — Another pair of back-to-back episodes chronicling Eric Jonrosh’s (Will Ferrell) tale of musical mystery. Rock Banyon, Fresno Foxglove and Delores DeWinter are all players in this six-part mini-series (aliases celebrities use when getting tested for STDs, probably).
Astronaut Wives Club (ABC, 8:00 p.m.) — While JFK refuses to blink as the Cuban Missile Crisis plays out, the women face a new social dynamic as they’re introduced to the Gemini Project and the new wives that come with it. If we’re lucky, they’ll be rapping some singles on Baby Daddyology.
Beauty and the Beast (The CW, 8:00 p.m.) — Cat’s got a new partner and begins to suspect that Bob and Carol are trying the “divide and conquer” strategy to hunt her and her beau. J.T. goes all Elixir on everybody, but his healing powers come at a cost, because don’t they always?
Mistresses (ABC, 9:00 p.m.) — Karen, Vivian and Alec learn that three’s company… until the sun comes up the next day and you’ve got to, ya know, look those people in the eyes at a PTA meeting or whatever. This seems like as good a time as any to point out that it’s only awkward if you make it awkward, folks.
Wayward Pines (FOX, 9:00 p.m.) — “The Friendliest Place on Earth” is rocked by an explosion, so Ethan plays Law & Order trying to track down the responsible parties while Nurse Pam conducts and investigation of her own to smoke out any Pinocchios within the surveillance engineers.
Aquarius (NBC, 9:00 p.m.) — Hodiak is faced with the reality of both sides of the coin when he seeks guidance from a priest and a lady of the night. Sounds like the start to a bad SkineMax special, if you ask me.
Complications (USA, 9:00 p.m.) — Rival gangs show up to the same ER after a bloody shootout, so John has to tread lightly while Gretchen tends to Helen of Troy, so to speak.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth on Conan.
