Since Mad Max: Fury Road had its theatrical premiere, we’ve seen loads of tribute and parody videos hit the web devoted to the film. I mean seriously, between that Star Wars mashup and the recent Adventure Time remix, the internet has kept us all pretty set. Now, with a week left before George Miller’s apocalyptic masterpiece hits Blu-ray and DVD, Screen Junkies has finally given the “blockbuster from the director of Happy Feet and Babe: Pig in the City the Honest Trailer it so desperately deserves.
Described ever so accurately as “a two hour game of Mario Kart from Hell,” the trailer itself mostly sets its criticism on the simple premise of the film. I mean sure, it’s a post apocalyptic wasteland short on water and fuel so… why not just use both resources with abandon? I mean, what’s the worst that could happen? Oh right, EVERYTHING!
Even though the above video basks in the film’s practical effects and explosive cinematic glory, it does poke fun at grunt-master extraordinaire Tom Hardy’s ability to communicate with a variety of snaps, finger pointing and somber-sounding gorilla noises. Aside from that, Screen Junkies gives grandpa George Miller the praise he so deservingly, uh, deserves.
