Miley Cyrus Performed A New Song And Dropped A Surprise Album To Close The VMAs

Miley Cyrus certainly had an interesting night while hosting the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, from a barely-there red carpet look to being called out by Nicki Minaj to a very visible nipple slip. If that wasn’t enough, she closed out the night with a surprise performance of a new marijuana-inspired track, “Dooo It!” with The Flaming Lips while surrounded by drag queens. The awards show had been teasing at the possibility of a performance from its host, and that wound up coming to fruition.

But that was not the only surprise up Cyrus’ sleeve. After the song finished, she directed everyone to www.mileycyrusandherdeadpetz.com, where her name album titled, you guessed it, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz was waiting for free. It’s the result of collaborations with The Flaming Lips and Mike Will Made It that we’ve known about for quite a while; we knew in May that her work with The Lips would sound like Pink Floyd and heard the two perform a song together, then we learned that Big Sean would have a verse on it (he does). Just earlier this week, Billboard reported that the project was imminent. A video for “Dooo It!” was released shortly after the VMAs ended, too. It was a busy night.
