Bernie Sanders is your fun, kinda kooky grandpa, who just might be running the country in about a year. He’s had a number of interesting ideas, like legalizing recreational pot, and he has gained the support of Emily Ratajkowski, Ronda Rousey, and Doc Brown.
The guy even hangs with Killer Mike.
Sanders’ latest ideas involve climate change. The senator has spoken on this dire issue in the past–we’re on a “suicidal course” with the current path, and he wants to do something about that. His plan follows the “fundamental changes” he talks about wanting for politics, and he wants to create a refreshing change of pace from the constant roadblocking of big fossil fuel. Sanders wants to ban their lobbyists from working in the White House where they can do the most damage. His plan would punish the fossil fuel companies by ending their subsidies and prosecuting those who knowingly spread misinformation about climate change.
The presidential candidate also proposes to allocate energy funds better, pursuing renewable resources like solar, wind, and geothermal. This would involve investing in high speed rail and other improvements in public transportation. Furthermore, in his first 100 days in office, he’d hold a climate change summit to create and enact real change on the environmental front.
What do you think about Sanders’ climate change plan?
