GOP Debate (CNN, 6/8:30 p.m.) – What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unless you’re a loud-mouthed Republican presidential hopeful spewing your thoughts on building border walls and banning Muslims during tonight’s final GOP debate of the year. By now, these debates are just plain predictable. Trump will hog most of the air time and talk about how everyone loves him and how his father only gave him a small, million-dollar loan when he was first starting out (chump change really). Ben Carson will probably put himself to sleep sometime during the broadcast. Jeb Bush will be sad no one’s paying attention to him, and none of us will be able to look at Ted Cruz without immediately replaying those awkward commercial outtakes in our heads. A way to make this more interesting? Start a drinking game tied to how many times Trump says the words “stupid” or “loser.” You’ll be tanked before the first half hour is up, guaranteed.
The Voice (NBC, 8/9 p.m.) – An hour dedicated to recapping last night’s performances is followed by part two of the season finale. If you’re into listening to random people sing or want to watch Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani make eyes at each other, you should tune in.
Childhood’s End (Syfy, 8 p.m.) – If the slow-moving first episode of this sci-fi novel adaptation didn’t hook you with Charles Dance (aka Tywin Lannister) donning a devil suit and creepily persuading the residents of earth to trust his ultimate plan of peace, perhaps night two will interest you – it involves the Overlords and their strange influence on human children.
NCIS (CBS, 8 p.m.) – While Bishop and Jake are ironing out the kinks in their relationship, Ducky finds himself the victim of an attack carried out by a man who claims to have information about his deceased half-brother.
NCIS: New Orleans (CBS, 9 p.m.) — A string of deadly Christmas burglaries leads back to Wade’s adopted son.
Limitless (CBS, 10 p.m.) – The show’s winter finale sees Jake struggling to keep everyone alive, including his dad, who may soon find himself on Senator Morra’s hit list and after learning the truth about NZT from his son. Also, Bradley Cooper will, more than likely, show up somewhere during tonight’s episode.
The Expanse (Syfy, 10 p.m.) – This space-opera-meets-detective-drama-meets-Game–of–Thrones wannabe is set 200 years into the future when mankind has begun colonizing the solar system. After the first episode, we still don’t know what the hell is going on with this show – Thomas Jane is some kind of detective looking for a missing girl, there’s a U.N. Deputy Undersecretary that’s hoping to negotiate Earth’s way out of a war with Mars and an ice-mining spaceship called the Canterbury is on some kind of investigative mission – but it looks cool and it’s worth a watch.
Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce (Bravo, 10 p.m.) – Abby discovers Jake, her soon-to-be ex-husband who she’s been casually dating, again, knocked up his ex-girlfriend – who he’s no longer seeing – and decides to unload while on a date with a handsome actor.
