UFC On Fox 17 And World Series Of Fighting 26: Combat Sports Live Discussion

Hey, fight fans, it’s the final live discussion for 2015! There are two events with two titles at stake, so let’s delve into what’s going on.

FRIDAY

World Series of Fighting 26

World Series of Fighting is back with a decent card. The prelims will be streaming online at WSOF.com starting at 6:30 p.m. ET. There aren’t a ton of big names on the undercard, but Khabib’s brother, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, is on the prelims, so that’s someone to watch for. The main card starts at 9 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network. Sheymon Moraes is back, looking to return to the top of the bantamweight rankings, while Bekbulat Magomedov puts his undefeated record on the line against Josh Hill in featherweight action. The main-event sees Lance Palmer put his featherweight gold on the line against Alex Almeida in what should be a good fight.

SATURDAY

UFC on Fox 17

The last UFC even of the year is here, and it ends with a title fight. That’s getting a little bit ahead of ourselves, though. The prelims start at 3:30 p.m. ET on Fight Pass, and we’ve got some Blackzilians versus American Top Team action, as “David” Hayder Hassan takes on Vicente Luque, plus Leon Edwards faces Kamaru Usman.

The regular prelims are on at 5 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1, and there’s a pretty good selection of fights. Cole Miller takes on Jim Alers, Josh Samman welcomes Tamdan “The Barn Cat” McCrory back to the UFC, Sarah Kaufman clashes with newcomer Valentina Shevchenko, and Charles Oliveira meets Myles Jury.

The main card starts at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. It’s only a four-fight main card, but all four fights are pretty solid. Randa Markos takes on undefeated Karolina Kowalkiewicz in strawweight action, plus Michael Johnson and Nate Diaz clash at lightweight. The co-main event is a heavyweight showdown as Junior Dos Santos meets Alistair Overeem. The main event is a lightweight title fight and a rematch, as new champ Rafael dos Anjos defends his belt for the first time against Donald Cerrone. RDA won their first encounter, but since then, “Cowboy” has won eight in a row.

Even though this fight is in Orlando, Burnsy will still be here live chatting away. However, I will be in attendance, yelling “GO GET SOME, DONALD SUH-ROH-NAY!” for 10-straight hours. I hope everyone enjoys a great weekend of fights!
