To paraphrase one of this year’s nominees, the Razzies don’t make love to movies. They f*ck them over. Hard. The Golden Raspberry Awards have been acknowledging the worst cinema has to offer since 1981, when the first ceremony was held in founder John J.B. Wilson’s living room. There’s much better bad movie #content out there — Mystery Science Theater 3000, the How Did This Get Made and Flop House podcasts, etc. — but the Razzies are still around, because who else would hold Adam Sandler accountable for his sins?
The Ridiculous Six (which just missed the cut) star was nominated in multiple categories for The Cobbler and Pixels, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor, and Worst Screen Combo (“Adam Sandler and any pair of shoes”). Pixels is also up for Worst Supporting Actor (Josh Gad and Kevin James), Worst Supporting Actress (Michelle Monaghan), and Worst Screenplay.
Also leading the pack, with six nominations each: Fifty Shades of Grey, Jupiter Ascending, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. It was a bad year for Kevin James, until you remember he got paid tens of millions to star in Pixels and Paul Blart. So, it was actually the best year of his life, hellfire reviews notwithstanding.

I don’t care if M. Night Shyamalan directs the next Mad Max. He will not be redeemed, not after the Razzie-winning catastrophe that was The Last Airbender. Anyway, the winners (losers?) will be announced on Feb. 27.
