Have you ever wondered what would happen to your body if you only drank soda? According to this video, some disgusting stuff.
First, the enamel in your teeth would wear off, which would subsequently give you a ton of cavities. Then your tongue senses that you just slammed up to 46 grams of sugar, which activates the reward center in your brain. That may sound great in theory, but in reality, it just means you’re getting addicted.
But here’s some even more frightening news: If you substitute the daily recommended eight glasses of water a day with eight glasses of (non-diet) cola, then you’ve consumed 5,432 extra calories. Yes, that means that even a day of drinking only soda will be putting you on a path of significant weight gain.
But that’s not all: drinking soda actually makes us eat more and thus take in even more calories. That’s because we don’t account for the extra calories in our soda. More than that, the high fructose corn syrup used to sweeten soda increases our risk of heart disease and messes with our natural stimulation of insulin and leptin, which would normally tell our body when we’re full. Oh, and all that soda consumption puts us at a higher risk for diabetes.
This doesn’t mean, though, that we should drink diet soft drinks. Despite what they promise, the artificial sweeteners they’re made of will also promote an ungodly amount of weight gain.
Soda also ages you, and is basically the devil. So never drink these delicious beverages again, the end.
