Sure, we’re finally getting a long awaited Guns N’ Roses reunion, as well as the return of At the Drive-In (more like At the Mars Volta at this point) this year. And don’t be mistaken, all of those are good, but we know in our hearts what reunion we’ve all really been waiting to hear about: the Spice Girls. And it looks like the iconic girl group of the ’90s is finally getting it together in honor of the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Spice.
A source close to the group claimed that the reunion tour has been in the works “for the past year,” in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “The girls have long been keen to do a major reunion tour together.”
Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown, Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton, and Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell will all be a part of the tour. And as for Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham, well: “They are trying to convince Victoria to jump in, but she doesn’t want to do it,” the source said. “There’s a small chance she’ll film something with them or make an appearance at a show here and there.” This shouldn’t really come as a surprise, considering Posh said that she wouldn’t tour with the Spice Girls again, back in 2015.
Nevertheless, the other girls are on board, so hopefully we’ll be seeing some tour dates in the foreseeable future. After all, the last “reunion” we got of them was when three of the five members took a picture together.
