People Are Fascinated With This Guy’s ‘Coleslaw Review’ Facebook Page

A Massachusetts man named Ed might be the world’s biggest fan of coleslaw, if this Facebook page he created dedicated to reviewing the cabbage salad is any indication. Ed’s recently created page went viral after it was posted to Reddit by his friend’s son, who writes: “My Dad’s friend started reviewing coleslaw from local eateries spanning KFC to the regional hospital cafe. He’s dead serious.”

And serious he is. At the top of the Coleslaw Review page, Ed writes his mission statement to reviewing coleslaw. The undertaking apparently started over his and his girlfriend Lisa’s love for the side dish, despite the fact that no one seems to ever bother to review it. (Get your sh*t together, Yelpers.) But this isn’t simply about just Ed and Lisa’s opinions, as he invites fans of the page to leave their own coleslaw reviews. He even helpfully shares the extremely thorough reviewing criteria, because this Coleslaw Review business is nothing if not highly scientific.

1. Liquid content (Is it too watery, too dry, or just right?)

2. Size of vegetables (I dunno, Lisa came up with this one.. are the shreddings too long or too short.. or perfecto?)

3. Taste (if you need an explanation — open the bloody dictionary.. does it taste good, simple, don’t complicate it)

4. Texture (Is the coleslaw of a good consistency?)

5. Presentation (Is the coleslaw slopping over the bowl or cup? Is it in a Styrofoam cup? Or is it in a nice quality little bowl? If on the plate with the rest of your meal, does it look like it was slopped on with an ice-cream scooper or did someone take care to place it next to the other foods on your plate with TLC — totally BS’d my way through that description… lol)

6. Vinegary (not sure I have the spelling correct on this but whatever. We like vinegar in coleslaw. So, besides taste… does it seem to have a good amount of vinegar in the coleslaw because we have found that a lot of places seem to be shy with the vinegar – WTF…)

7. Average your ratings above. Add them and then divide by 6. The calculator is on your wicked smartphone.

8. Totally optional… leave an overall comment.

Ed’s page has gone from just 50 likes on April 24 to more than 7,000 at the time of this writing, due in part to avid and enthusiastic reviews like these:

Some people might laugh at Ed and Lisa’s coleslaw obsession, but if there’s anything in your life that you love as much as these two love coleslaw, then consider yourself lucky
