A scary incident occurred over the weekend involving former Michigan Wolverine and current Jacksonville Jaguar Denard Robinson. Both Robinson and a female passenger were found asleep in a Chevy Impala with Robinson behind the wheel on Sunday. The car had careened off of the road and into a retention pond. When police arrived at the scene a little after four in the morning, they found the car submerged in water.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt, as Robinson and his passenger escaped any harm other than the likely mental shock caused by finding yourself asleep in a car in a pond. According to police reports, Robinson did not seem to be impaired, he was not charged with a DUI, and he was not cited for any violations. Robinson tweeted a statement about his crash, which ended with, “I should not have been driving that late or when I was that tired, but again, I’m just glad that everyone was safe. God Bless.”

Robinson made a big splash at the University of Michigan, where he played quarterback and wowed fans with his big play ability on the ground. When he moved to the NFL, he was moved to running back by the Jaguars, where he still plays. As Robinson said in his tweet, the important thing is that everybody was safe, which is all that matters after something like this happens.
