Halloween is just around the corner. That means it’s time for restaurants to start rolling out their Instagram worthy Frankenstein’d delights. Lotteria, a Japanese burger chain whose main philosophy when it comes to food seems to be #YOLO, decided to go all in this Halloween and created a burger complete with a purple hamburger sauce that looks like melted Laffy Taffy and bacon “tongue” ready to lap up a scare or two.

Okay, that’s a truly terrifying burger. It has purple sauce, PURPLE SAUCE! Although the most horrifying part is that the sauce is probably made with a fake food coloring instead of, say, eggplant skins or red cabbage leaves. Overall, the burger is a pretty standard double cheeseburger with a big ol’ slice of back bacon. The kicker is a neat little coffin that the burger is served in that verges more on cute than scary…well, as cute as a tiny coffin can be, we guess.
Overall, Lotteria is known for throwing caution to the wind when concocting their burger variations. They’ve bridged the spectrum from the Everything Burger to a burger that is literally just lettuce inside a bun. We can’t help but wonder what they’ll think of next.
