In case you missed the festivities, tonight was the always eventful BET Hip-Hop Awards. While you can see all the award winners here and the cyphers here, we know you’re dying to see the performances. With sets from everyone from Young M.A. and D.R.A.M. to Lacrae and Big K.R.I.T., there were plenty of notable moments.

10. Desiigner Gets Too Turnt For “Timmy Turner”
Was it dope seeing the young gun Desiigner rock one of the most fire songs of the past year live on television? Of course. However, that performance was sloppy as hell and his adlibs were louder than his actual mic vocals. Plus, the choir was cool and everything, but it felt forced. His wild energy isn’t entertaining enough to watch alone.
9. Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage And Isaiah Rashad Rep For The New Jacks

If you watched this combo performance of young gunners, one of the three performances didn’t belong and it was very obvious. While Vert had the energy with “Money Longer” and Rashad had K-Dot rapping along to “Titty And Dolla,” 21 Savage killed the energy of the show with a flat performance of “X.” He’s not ready for that stage. Sorry.
8. D.R.A.M., Lil Yachty And Dae Dae And A Poodle Serve “Broccoli”
By performing one of the biggest songs of the summer in “Broccoli,” Lil Yachty and D.R.A.M. inevitably turned out their set, after a somewhat mediocre spot from Dae Dae. The place went nuts for Lil Boat. Please remember though, this song is nothing without that D.R.A.M. hook.
7. Lacrae Shows Strength, But Lacks Originality
There is no denying the power behind Lecrae’s “Gangland” track, especially when he’s going acapella like he did here. Plus, the fact these type of positive messages were strong throughout the show was great. But, when Big K.R.I.T. and T.I.P. offered similar spots with more energy and creativity, well… this one doesn’t stand out as much.
6. OT Genasis Shows Staying Power
Even though he was doing a weird version of the robot at one point, OT Genasis showed he has legit hits on one of hip-hop’s biggest stages, getting everyone in the crowd extra hype with performances of “Push It” and “Cut It.”
5. DJ Khaled And Betty Wright Unlock Take us To Church
Even though this performance of “Holy Key” would have been 1000% more epic had Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean been there to rock out their killer verses, seeing legendary soul singer Betty Wright grace the stage with such passion alongside DJ Khaled was pretty damn inspiring.
4. T.I.P Goes Militant To Show Unity
Even though he came on after an extremely powerful performance from Big K.R.I.T. that had a similar feel, T.I.P.’s performance of his powerful new single “We Will Not” was extremely strong.
3. Young M.A. Has The Whole Crowd Singing Along For “OOOUUU”
There was no denying the buzz of Young M.A. with her performance of “OOOUUU.” In what felt like a coming of age set, the NY spitter had the whole crowd rapping along to her single of the moment.
2. Gucci Mane, Young Thug And Travis Scott Open With A Bang
In his first performance since coming out jail, Gucci Mane La Flare hit the stage in grand fashion to perform “First Day Out Da Feds” and “Last Time.” The place went wild, but got even crazier when he was joined by Travis Scott and Young Thug for a lit rendition of “Pick Up The Phone.”
1. Big K.R.I.T. Rocks Blue To Prove A Point
When a performance ends with the entire crowd standing up with their fist in the air and the artist damn near in tears, you know someone gave their all. That’s exactly what Big Krizzle did with his heart-wrenching and show-stealing performance that spoke out against police brutality.
Honorable Mention: Lil Wayne showed up saddled with Kevin Hart in tow (AKA Chocolate Droppa) to prove that no matter who the official performers are, Weezy dropped by to prove he’s always the greatest. This performance was so awe-inspiring it has us wondering if Wayne is headed for a second prime? Sure, this was technically a cypher, but how could we not include Weezy, sounding a lot like the old Weezy, and Hart as Droppa dropping bombs together on the beat? Check it out here.
