After a solid month and a half of vague, mysterious snippets popping up during commercial breaks of The Americans, FX has finally released the first extended promo for its new drama, The Bridge. Here again is the description of the show, for those of you who missed it.
Demián Bichir stars in the role of “Marco Ruiz,” a homicide investigator for the state of Chihuahua, Mexico living in Ciudad Juárez. A family man, Marco is one of the last good men in a corrupt and apathetic police force that is outgunned by the powerful drug cartels. He’s sharp, charming, and observant and painfully aware that his city is in a state of chaos. When a body is dumped on the bridge that spans the El Paso-Ciudad Juárez border, Ruiz is forced to work with his American counterpart, Detective Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger).
So there you go. The trailer is full of grisly crime scenes and bombs in cars and people giving each other side eyes, so if you’re looking for an intense as hell show about people murdering ladies and maybe chopping them in half, you should probably tune in for the premiere on July 10. Personally, I hope the killer turns out to be a really sh*tty magician with a name like The Amazing Kevin who botched the old saw-my-assistant-in-half trick and then decided to cover it up by making it look like a high-level drug deal gone bad. Now he’s on the run and using his illusions to evade both the police and the cartel. Will he be able to pull off the greatest disappearing act of all? Find out, on FX’s The Bridge.
