During Sunday’s episode of True Blood, actress Jurnee Smollett stripped naked and hopped into the shower with shape-shifting bar owner, Sam Merlotte. That scene in and of itself wasn’t particularly noteworthy (it’d be more revelatory for someone to not get naked on True Blood), until you remember that long before Smollett was on True Blood or Friday Night Lights, where she played Jess, she was a regular on Full House, as Michelle’s Female Black Friend. It was an uncomfortable memory, though not as much as seeing Lil’ Ruthie Camden in Maxim.
We’ve known that the photos were coming out for a few months, but that still doesn’t decrease the oddity of gazing at the Camden’s youngest, most annoying daughter, the curliest of curly-haired know-it-all moppets, posing in her underwear. That’s kind of the point, says the 23-year-old.
When asked if people will “be surprised” to see her in such a provocative state, the former child star replies, “They might be. But you know what? It’s who I am.”
Rosman isn’t the first 7th Heaven star to pose for a men’s magazine: Jessica Biel, who played her big sister, Mary, posed topless on the cover of Gear in 2000. At the time, Biel was 17 and Rosman was 9. “I remember that. It was a big deal,” Rosman recalls. “The magazine was banned on set, I think by orders of Aaron Spelling. I sneaked a peek at it, though. It was racy gossip amongst the women of 7th Heaven.” (Via)
Meanwhile, you can see Beverley Mitchell and Jodie Sweetin acting out scenes from both 7th Heaven and Full House at the haunted wharf every morning at 3 a.m. Ask nicely, and they’ll throw in a Smart Guy monologue.
