Lupita Nyong’o’s Steamy Salt-N-Pepa Routine On ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Proves She Can Do No Wrong

Lupita Nyong’o can really do no wrong, but everyone knew that. Now, the question becomes is there anything she just can’t do? The actress made an appearance on Lip Sync Battle and turned up the heat by recreating Salt-N-Pepa’s late ’90s radio hit “Whatta Man.”

First and foremost, Nyong’o has already proven she has impeccable rap skills when she nailed a freestlye to Nas’ “N.Y. State of Mind” a while back. But, now she’s showing she has the crazy dance skills to go with it with her appearance here. In the clip, she’s backed by a troupe of dancers as she spouts off the song’s lyrics. The real action comes when she brings a male dancer, who was half-dressed as a fireman and armed simply with a chair, to assist her midway through. There’s no need to spoil the watch but what I wouldn’t give to be that guy. Or just the chair.

The actress’ impressive gyrating and grinding moves left hosts LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen in absolute awe. Social media had a good time watching the clip, too. I think we all realize that this is Lupita’s world and we’re all just living in it, happily mesmerized by her black girl magic.
