We saw Sky Ferreira in a brief cameo role in Baby Driver this year, but musically, she’s been pretty quiet since her 2013 debut album Night Time, My Time. She’s made guest appearances on songs here and there, but while she hasn’t released anything of her own in four years now, that’s about to change. Track Record penned an open letter to Ferreira asking her to return to music soon, and she responded on Twitter with three heart emojis and wrote, “I am putting out new music this winter!”

Ferreira also offered an update on her music last month, tweeting that part of the reason it’s taken so long for her follow-up album is because she is “ill and has been for a while”:

“Here’s one of the several reasons why I can’t wait to put something out: Certain people will be forced to come up with their own identity and artistic vision. The only reason I can’t put a ton of new music all at once is because I’m ill and have been for a while. I have to get completely better so I can tour and actually promote it. I was misdiagnosed for a long time and I’m now just starting to actually recover. I am still putting out new music very soon though and have been working on it the entire time.”

It sounds like whatever we get this winter will be more than just a single, too: When a fan asked for “just one song” as “something to chew on,” Ferreira responded, “I’m giving several, bb.”
