While rumors persist that tag teams like The Good Brothers, The Revival, and others have either planned to or considered leaving WWE for whatever All Elite Wrestling can come up with, one team is officially staying put: the current Smackdown Tag Team Champions, Jimmy and Jey, the Usos.
According to a report from PWI, Uce and Uce agreed to sign new contracts ahead of their fatal four-way title defense against The Bar, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev, and Aleister Black and Ricochet at WrestleMania 35. Pro Wrestling Sheet added that it’s a five-year deal and a pay raise for both men to keep them with the company.
It’s good career timing for the six-time Tag Team Champions, as they’re both 33 years old, will only turn 34 in August, and still have a lot of in-ring time left ahead of them. The duo has been competing in WWE since joining developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling back in 2009, and quickly made the jump to the promotion’s main roster with an appearance on Monday Night Raw in May of 2010. They’re currently already record holders for most reigns with the Smackdown Tag Team Championship at four (ahead of the New Day, who’ve held it three times) and most combined days holding the Smackdown Tag titles at 374+.
