I’ll say this about the Grammys: they’re really trying. We already knew about the Daft Punk and Stevie Wonder team up; now comes word that this year’s ceremony is going to close with a performance by a bunch of angry white dudes: Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl, and Lindsay Buckingham. That’s what’s up.
Grohl, as usual, is the connective tissue, having performed extensively with both bands, most prominently on QOTSA’s Songs for the Deaf and Nine Inch Nails’ With Teeth. Fleetwood Mac guitarist/singer Buckingham is the wild card, and his role…remains to be seen. Buckingham appears in Sound City: Real to Reel, the Grohl-directed documentary about the legendary L.A. studio where many classic albums were recorded. (Via)
