Almost a month ago we introduced the internet to it’s new hero, the drunk guy who sang every word to “Bohemian Rhapsody” in the back of the cop car. “Hero” may have been a bit of an overreach in the case of homebrewer Robert Wilkinson though, seeing as how it turned out he had just been picked up for DUI.
So today we introduce a new, slightly more wholesome reincarnation of Freddie Mercury: the Dad who reenacts Wayne’s World with his kids on the way to school each day. He’s the hero the internet deserves, if you will…
“It has become a morning habit to sing Bohemian Rhapsody on the way to school in the morning. Depending on traffic, we can usually start the song as we pull out of the driveway, and pull into the school just as the song ends.”
Could this have been planned YouTube bait from the beginning? Sure. But — just like TNT’s epic marketing stunt on Belgium — at this point in web culture when something is well executed AND entertaining no one should give a sh*t what the motive is (exploiting your kids on YouTube is another issue entirely). Although, the little girl up front could take a few pro tips from her baby brother and be a little less self aware.
