Watch Richard Jefferson Posterize Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Like It’s 2002 [It Didn’t Count]

Richard Jefferson lifted off against the Hornets tonight, and the last time we saw him get this high he was teammates with Jason Kidd and the Hornets, were still the Hornets, but had never been known as anything but the Hornets.

Jefferson will turn 35 in June, so he’s not that old, but he did get to play in back-to-back NBA Finals his first two years in the Association catching lobs at the end of a Kidd-led Nets fast break.

His dunk on Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was like watching him back at Continental Airlines Arena.

Too bad it didn’t count; Jefferson was whistled for an offensive foul on MKG. Rick Carlisle was obviously with everyone else when it came to that call:

Still, RJ needs some help to get this on ESPN:

Even Amar’e turned back the clock in his Mavs debut with this slightly more grounded throw down.

Jefferson’s all too familiar with his new teammate’s dunking ability.

Regardless of RJ’s offensive foul, the Mavs won it over the Hornets, 92-81.
