So this is one of those, “oh come on, seriously?” stories, but it is very real. For the unaware, a substitute teacher got into big trouble a little while ago for showing her students the horror film The ABCs of Death. How much trouble? Enough that a court had to get involved, and now her sentence has been revealed:
“This is what happens when you put a teacher in a class that she cannot teach,” Common Pleas Judge Charles A. Schneider said before sentencing the former substitute to 90 days in jail. (via Dispatch)
In January, the teacher, Sheila Kearns, was convicted of four low-level felony counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. The judge in question placed her on three years probation, but made the 90 day sentence a condition of it.
They never had this kind of trouble in Mr. Shoop’s English class…
