Andrew Wiggins is one of the best athletes in the NBA. He runs like a deer, slides like a bug, and jumps like a kangaroo. But though the Minnesota Timberwolves rookie has accumulated a wealth of highlights during his standout debut campaign, he hadn’t yet put a big-name player on a poster…until Friday night.
Josh Smith had no chance here. Wiggins is quicker off the ground than perhaps any player in basketball and possesses supreme aerial body control, too. As long as the 20 year-old came with bad intentions, he’d embarrass J-Smoove – and the normally mild-mannered Wiggins did exactly that.
Just imagine when this kid develops more confidence and fills out his 199-pound frame. For a high-flier of his talent level, the sky really does seem the limit.
Wiggins continued his stellar recent play during Minny’s 120-110 loss to the Houston Rockets, scoring 31 points (9-17 FGs), grabbing four boards, and dishing four dimes. He’s averaging 26.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists on 51.9 percent shooting over the ‘Wolves past three games.
