The spunky, fierce old lady in this video, Virginia McLaurin, finally got to fulfill her lifelong dream of visiting the White House and meeting President Obama this weekend at 106 years young. And what else would a lady of her age and stature do to mark such a momentous occasion? That’s right: DANCE HER BUNS OFF! Both the President and First Lady were blown away by Ms. McLaurin’s enthusiasm and energy, as Michelle Obama remarks to the centenarian, “I wanna be like you when I grow up!”
It’s no wonder she’s so excited. As someone so eloquently points out in the comments, this woman has lived to see “two World Wars, the height of racial segregation, and finally an elected black president.” So, when you put it like that, she’s got all the reason in the world to celebrate.
