Back in 2011, America was horrified and mesmerized by the trail of Casey Anthony, a Florida women who was accused of murdering her two year old daughter, Caylee. Anthony was eventually acquitted by a Florida jury, but many remained unconvinced of her claims of innocence.
Anthony has largely remained out of the public eye since her verdict, but new information regarding her case is bound to bring her back under scrutiny once again. In an affidavit, private investigator Dominic Casey claims that Anthony’s defense attorney, Jose Baez, admitted openly that Anthony was guilty and enlisted Casey’s services to help find Caylee’s body before anyone else did. In new documents that became public record in Anthony’s bankruptcy case, the relevant information reads as follows:
Saturday, July 26, 2008, Baez told me that Casey had murdered Caylee and dumped the body somewhere and , he needed all the help he could get to find the body before anyone else did.
In October 2008, just prior to the remains being found, Casey Anthony told me that when Caylee came up missing, the back gate was left ajar. Since Roy Kronk was a meter reader for the house, maybe “we could say Roy Kronk kidnapped Caylee.”
There will certainly be much speculation on this to come, but for now it’s just one of those things that is out there for public opinion.
