Delta is in apology mode following an in-flight incident that promptly had customers calling for a boycott on Twitter.
The Chicago-based airline has issued a statement expressing regret over how Flight 248 handled a situation where a passenger stood in the aisle and shouting and clapping in an aggressive manner about President-elect Donald Trump’s election victory. As you might imagine, Twitter was far from thrilled with this dude.
“We got some Hillary bitches on here. Come on, baby. Trump!” shouted the passenger while channeling a charmless Ronnie Dobbs. “That’s what I th–. That’s what I’m talking about.”
Delta has now piped up to agree that the rant and behavior of the man behind it were not appropriate and something should have been done on that flight from Atlanta to Allentown.
“We are sorry to our customers who experienced this disruption. We have followed up with the teams involved and all agree that this customer should not have been allowed to continue on the flight. Our responsibility for ensuring all customers feel safe and comfortable with Delta includes requiring civil behavior from everyone. The behavior we see in this video does not square with our training or culture and follow up will continue so we can better ensure our employees will know they will be fully supported to make the right decisions when these issues arise.”
Will this apology and acknowledgement regarding the “Hilary bitches” yell-ramble be enough to retrain customers that were thinking of shunning Delta? We’ll have to wait and see.
