We’ve already discussed this story in a separate post, but this video deserves a highlight too. Much of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has been characterized by his sweeping generalizations and bullying of various groups and individual opponents. So, it’s not shocking to hear the man who could potentially become the next president of the United States discuss — during a campaign appearance — how badly he wants to “hit” a few of the speakers at the Democratic National Convention.
Addressing the crowd at a rally last night in Davenport, Iowa, the frustrated real estate mogul/reality television star repeated himself a few times when discussing his response to those who spoke out against him at the DNC.
“I was gonna hit one guy in particular, a very little guy,” Trump sputtered angrily, likely referring to Michael Bloomberg, the former New York mayor and fellow billionaire who called out Trump as a “dangerous demagogue” and a “con man.”
“I was gonna hit this guy so hard his head would spin, he wouldn’t know what the hell happened,” Trump declared. “He came out of nowhere … I was going to hit a number of those speakers so hard their heads would spin; they’ll never recover.”
Whether he intended this to mean a verbal hit or a physical one, it was once again a display of his unpredictable rhetoric. He later went after his main “mystery” opponent on Twitter, delivering more insults.
"Little" Michael Bloomberg, who never had the guts to run for president, knows nothing about me. His last term as Mayor was a disaster!
