The ‘Mannequin Challenge’ Didn’t Turn Out So Well For 22 Alabama Men Who Posed Holding Guns

A mannequin challenge viral video from Alabama led to the arrest of two people and the confiscation of several weapons. Why? Because the video in question shows 22 heavily armed people staging a shootout, which may not have been the wisest decision. The video tipped off local authorities, who confiscated guns and marijuana from the premises.

The mannequin challenge was intended for people to have some good, wholesome fun (with varying degrees of success). However, the Madison Country Sheriff’s Department didn’t take too kindly to this one, in which a group recreated a fake shootout. Captain Mike Salomonsky told media outlets they quickly identified the location and served a served a search warrant at a home in Huntsville, Alabama on Tuesday. Authorities found “two handguns, a shotgun, a rifle and marijuana that appeared to be packaged for sale.”

Salomonsky went on to suggest they were not taking the situation lightly, noting “The Madison County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, the City of Huntsville Police Department SWAT team, and also ATF were present when we executed the search warrant at that residence.” Police even went so far as to use a “breaching technique which caused the front door to be removed from the residence.”

Kenneth Fennell White and Terry Brown were arrested in the ensuing raid. White is being charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a violent felon, while Brown is looking at possession of drug paraphernalia and loitering charges. According to AL.com, police also charged Brown with promoting prison contraband after finding marijuana on his person.
