Ted Cruz rips Donald Trump: “You’re a sniveling coward and leave Heidi the hell alone” https://t.co/cANdqu0hzr https://t.co/eaCIJ9xKlm

For those of you who haven’t been paying attention the past few days, the biggest story from the campaign trail isn’t President Obama’s maligned trips to Cuba and Argentina. Instead, it’s the latest feud between Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz that began when the former threatened to “spill the beans” on the latter’s wife, Heidi Cruz, in a Tuesday tweet. Since then, the two men have sniped back at one another in the media and online, but the most recent iteration of the very public fight came about during a campaign stop for Cruz in Wisconsin.
Speaking with reporters in the town of Dane, the junior senator from Texas, Cruz was asked about the New York real estate mogul’s most recent contribution to the disagreement — a series of retweeted insults about Heidi’s looks. According to CNN, Cruz was not particularly happy about what the Donald had to say about his wife:
“It’s not easy to tick me off. I don’t get angry often. But you mess with my wife, you mess with my kids — that’ll do it every time. Donald, you’re a sniveling coward and leave Heidi the hell alone!”
Of course, the members of the press who were present when Cruz delivered these prepared remarks weren’t entirely satisfied with this answer. So, as soon as Cruz had finished uttering the word “alone,” another reporter asked him whether or not he’d support Trump as the party’s nominee. Not unlike the cold, mythical Zodiac Killer whom the internet jokingly suggested is actually Cruz, the candidate turned to the unseen reporter and said, “I’m going to beat him for the nomination… Donald Trump will not be the nominee.”
As of this writing, neither Trump himself nor his campaign have responded to Cruz’s “sniveling coward” comments. Then again, this is the Donald we’re talking about. It’s bound to happen.
