Donald Trump once again called out Hillary Clinton for her private email server during the presidential election. On Sunday, Trump shamed Clinton for deleting more than 30,000 emails from her time as secretary of state. Trump said he would assign his attorney general to start a task force to look into her deleted emails:
But if I win, I am going to instruct my Attorney General to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation because there has never been so many lies, so much deception. There has never been anything like it. And we’re going to have a special prosecutor.
After making his point, Trump seemed a little miffed at being cut off and chastised moderators, Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz. Chastising Clinton over her emails has been one of Trump’s key platforms during this election cycle, as “lock her up” has become a rallying cry at several Trump speeches. But this time around, Trump seemed a bit irritated he wasn’t allowed to expound on the topic further. Before being cut off, Trump mentioned Clinton deleting her emails ruined lives:
There has never been anything like this where e-mails and you get a subpoena — you get a subpoena and after getting the subpoena, you delete 33,000 e-mails. And then you have to acid wash them or bleach them, as you would say– a very expensive process. So we’re going to get a special prosecutor, and we’re going to look into it. Because you know what? People have been — their lives have been destroyed for doing one fifth of what you’ve done. And it’s a disgrace. And honestly, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
Clinton has already been reprimanded for her email use, but Trump continues to use this topic as a favorite talking point.
