Some people have such crazy bounce that they don’t even know what to do with it. That’s a problem most of us will never have to worry about, but if you’re a member of Gerald Green‘s nuclear family, it’s the cross you have to bear, apparently. Like his older brother, the 24-year-old Garlon Green is a professional basketeer who plays for the German club the Tigers Tuebingen.
Late in a game against Lowen Braunschweig over the weekend with an opposing player at the free-throw line, the younger Green soared into the lane, presumably to grab the rebound, but instead just went ahead and inexplicably slammed it home on his own team’s goal. It was a two-point game at the time with Green’s team trailing 81-79. Admittedly, there were only 0.4 seconds left on the clock, but that’s still plenty of time for a desperation tip-in, however unlikely.
In short, it’s not a good look, and it’s certainly not a great way to endear yourself to your teammates, as evidenced by their hilariously-confused and rightfully-outraged reactions following the play. Nonetheless, it might still very well have earned him a ticket to the German League’s slam dunk contest, depending on how fans vote on this poll posted to the league’s Twitter account.
Was meint ihr? Soll Garlon Green beim Dunking Contest des #ALLSTARDay antreten?
