The Sixers and Lakers went to overtime last night, but nobody noticed outside of Philadelphia and pockets of Los Angeles even knew it happened since both teams have long since passed any chance at a playoff berth. The game was still knotted at 111-all with under 10 seconds left in the extra session when Wayne Ellington got stuck picking up his dribble.
As the Sixers swarmed Ellington at the elbow, he spotted Jordan Clarkson cutting towards him along the baseline, and the rookie’s pretty little floater fell through with just 0.7 seconds left to give the Lakers a 113-111 lead they kept for the win.
Not only did he hit the game winner in overtime, but Clarkson put up the first double-double of his career with a game-high 26 points and 11 assists along with six rebounds and three steals. Clarkson also hit four free throws in the last minute of regulation to help send the game into OT.
