Last weekend, Columbia Pictures released the red band trailer for the Christmas Day comedy The Interview, and it was everything absurd, gross and vulgar that we could have expected from James Franco and Seth Rogen. However, if you’re the kind of person who clutches pearls over people talking about Matthew McConaughey having sex with a goat in a movie trailer, then Columbia Pictures also has this much cleaner new full trailer for The Interview to provide you with a false sense of security. However, from a purely strategic standpoint, studios should always release the full, “clean” trailer first and the red band trailer second, because once James Franco has called Kim Jong-Un a “buttf*ck,” it’s kind of hard to watch him not call Kim Jong-Un a buttf*ck.
