In recent years the Call of Duty series has really embraced celebrity voice work and cameos, and the latest entry in the series, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, has scored itself a couple hot names. As revealed in its latest trailer, Infinite Warfare will feature Game of Thrones star Kit Harington in a very different role than we’re used to seeing him in. Jon Snow is about a close to a pure hero as you get in the Game of Thrones universe, but in Infinite Warfare he steps into the role of the sneering villain.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare takes place in a future where mankind has colonized most of our Solar System. Unfortunately, the other planets get tired of being under Earth’s thumb, and rebel (yes, the rebels are the bad guys in this particular space opera). We got some hint Harington would be appearing in Infinite Warfare back in June, but now we know he plays Admiral Salen Kotch, the roguishly handsome leader of the dastardly rebels.
Of course, Harington isn’t the only celeb in Infinite Warfare – the game will also have UFC motormouth Conor McGregor play against type as a good guy, albeit one that does a lot of punching.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has been the subject of significant fan backlash, but perhaps the presence of the fan-favorite Harington will help turn things around. Jon Snow shows whether he knows anything about planetary invasions when the game hits shelves on Nov. 4.
