Need for Speed, the iconic driving game that used to fry old-school PCs into smithereens with its mind-blowing (for the time) graphics, is coming back, and the new game is a reboot of the series, focusing on making the experience as real as possible for the player.
From Coming Soon:
Fuelled by EA’s own car culture community, Speedhunters, Need for Speed will deliver an experience that’s grounded in authentic car culture by diving into the rich world of past, present and emergent trends of the urban car scene. This collaboration with Speedhunters in the research and development of the game means the level of detail and real-world authenticity will envelop gamers in an exciting world to discover and enjoy.
The game, which will be out this fall on all major systems (not the Wii U), will feature a story mode and will be set in a “nocturnal world” where outrunning the cops looks like it’s going to be a common occurrence. The teaser states that all footage is coming from the game itself, and if the graphics really are that good, prepare to take a few days off when the EA title drops.
